Sin? Fall? Punishment? Judgment? All of it in ONE CHAPTER of the Bible? The worst events in the world’s history are contained in the third chapter of the first book... So what now? Do people need to wait hundreds of years for any glimmer of hope? How far away is the Kingdom? How far away is the Promised Kingdom? How far away is the PROMISE?
Closer than we could imagine! In the middle of Genesis, chapter three, we can see hope. In the middle of God’s speech, we can see hope. In the middle of punishment, we can see hope!
These are the Creator’s words of hope:
I will put enmity between you and the woman,
and between your offspring and her offspring;
he shall bruise your head,
and you shall bruise his heel
Genesis 3: 15
This is the FIRST GOSPEL, protoevangelium. This is the first prophecy of Christ in the Bible, this is the first promise after the Fall. This is, in some way, the beginning of the Promised Kingdom! In those words, God promised that Eve’s offspring, who is Jesus Christ, will bruise the Serpent! We can see and read the promise of God’s Grace, right after sin enter's the world and his people Fall.
